Hongta Group Wins the First Prize in the Knowledge Competition of the Party Discipline and Laws and Regulations in Yuxi City

The team of Hongta Tobacco (Group) Co., Ltd. (hereinafter referred to as “Hongta Group”), which kept calm in the fierce Knowledge Competition of the Party Discipline and Laws and Regulations in Yuxi City from the afternoon of November 26 to the next morning, finally won the first prize.

The competition was held for thoroughly studying and implementing Xi Jinping Thought on Socialism with Chinese Characteristics for a New Era and the spirit of the 19th CPC National Congress. It also aimed to deepen the study and publicity of Party organizations at all levels, Party cadres, and all public officials on the Party discipline and laws and regulations, and to increase their implementation consciousness and deepen Party self-discipline. In addition, the activity was also held to further set off a wave of learning and implementing the discipline and laws and regulations, so as to enable every Party cadre and public official to learn, understand, observe and protect the discipline.

The Knowledge Competition of the Party Discipline and Laws and Regulations was sponsored by the Commission for Discipline Inspection and Commission for Discipline Supervision of the CPC Yuxi Municipal Committee. Since its opening in September 2018, Party organizations at all levels of the city have attached great importance to the competition, and have also carefully organized and actively participated in it to ensure that work in all stages are in-depth, solid and effective. 17 competition areas have been set to carry out the layers of preliminary selection by 9 counties and districts, departments directly under the CPC Yuxi Municipal Committee, Yuxi Municipal schools, Yuxi Health and Family Planning Commission, Yuxi Municipal state-owned enterprises, Hongta Group, Yuxi Normal University, Yuxi Local Taxation Bureau and central and provincial units in Yuxi. On the afternoon of November 26 and the morning of November 27, two rematches were held respectively. Six teams from Yuxi Health and Family Planning Commission, Yuxi Local Taxation Bureau, departments directly under the CPC Yuxi Municipal Committee, Yuxi Normal University, Xinping County and Hongta group reached the final.

The scope of the competition knowledge included the contents of the Constitution of the Communist Party of China, the Code of Conduct for Intraparty Political Life under New Circumstances, the CPC’s Internal Supervision Provisions, the Regulation of the Communist Party of China on Disciplinary Actions, the Constitution of the People’s Republic of China, and the Supervision Law of the People’s Republic of China.

Adopting the form of on-site competition, it was divided into compulsory questions, rush questions, risk questions and additional questions. In order to reflect the intensity of the competition and increase its difficulty, the Organizing Committee increased the number of rush questions and the rounds of risk questions in the final stage, making the whole competition more exciting.

The final kicked off on the afternoon of November 27, during which wise answers of the players won applause from the audience now and then. According to the points of each team, the fierce competition finally witnessed one first prize (the team of Hongta Group), two second prizes and three third prizes.

Zhang Wei, Deputy Secretary of Commission for Discipline Inspection and Deputy Director of Commission for Discipline Supervision of CPC Yuxi Municipal Committee, stressed in his speech that the knowledge competition of the Party discipline and laws and regulations was of great significance for the Party organizations at all levels, Party cadres and the public officials to further enhance the consciousness and firmness of carrying out the Regulation of the Communist Party of China on Disciplinary Actions and the Supervision Law of the People’s Republic of China. The competition was also significant in creating a strong atmosphere of disciplines and rules, implementing Party self-governance, and strengthening comprehensive Party self-discipline. Party cadres and the public officials should firmly establish the “four consciousness” (consciousness of the need to maintain political integrity, think in big-picture terms, follow the leadership core, and keep in alignment) and the “four confidence” (confidence in the path, theory, system, and culture of socialism with Chinese characteristics), as well as practice the “two maintenance” (resolute maintenance of General Secretary Xi Jinping as the core of the CPC Central Committee and the Party, and maintenance of the authority of the CPC Central Committee and its centralized and unified leadership). In addition, they should make it an important political task to study, publicize, implement and enforce the Party discipline and laws and regulations, so as to enhance the consciousness of observing them, and to take actions to learn, observe and stand in awe of them.

Winners were awarded prizes by leaders including Zhao Lirong, Vice Minister of Publicity Department of Commission for Discipline Inspection of CPC Yunnan Provincial Committee, Meng Fanbing, Member of Standing Committee, Secretary of Commission for Discipline Inspection and Director of Commission for Discipline Supervision of CPC Yuxi Municipal Committee, Cao Hang, Secretary of Commission for Discipline Inspection of Hongta Group, Li Changhong, Secretary of Commission for Discipline Inspection of Yuxi Normal University and Dean of Yuxi Institute of Discipline Inspection and Supervision, Pu Shaoping, Deputy Director of Yuxi Municipal Office of Performance Appraisal of Investment Promotion, and Xie Weilin, Associate Researcher of Publicity Department of CPC Yuxi Municipal Committee. These leaders also watched the competition together with cadres and workers of each competition area, representatives of every team, units directly under the CPC Yuxi Municipal Committee as well as representatives of cadres and workers from central and provincial units in Yuxi.
