Hongta Group Holds the 45th Anniversary of Brand Creation of “Yuxi” & Release of “Yuxi (Emerald)”

“Yuxi”, a model for China’s high-end cigarette brands, has been keeping abreast with Chinese cigarette development and the era for 45 years from 1973 to 2018. To celebrate this great moment, Hongta Group, on the morning of September 26, held the 45th Anniversary of Brand Creation of “Yuxi” & Release of “Yuxi (Emerald)” themed with “Model of Fragrance—Quality ‘Yuxi’” in Yuxi, which is known as the “Home of Tobacco in China” and also the birthplace of the brand.

This event specially invited 66 customer managers as well as retail representatives from 33 provinces and regions nationwide.

Wang Yong, Deputy General Manager and Party Member of China Tobacco Yunnan, and Secretary of Party Committee and Chairman of Hongta Group first delivered a speech. He looked back the glorious history of “Yuxi”, with the original aspiration of quality and continuous innovation and breakthroughs, to lead the high-end value of Chinese cigarettes. As he said, Hongta predecessors aimed to make a pack of world-class cigarettes 45 years ago. They created the brand of “Yuxi” with the best raw materials, equipment, crafts and personnel. Through 45-year stupendous changes, “Yuxi”, sticking to the original aspiration of “Quality First”, combines raw materials, technology, crafts, and originality, thus building the reputed and well-known “Top Brands of China” on the basis of high-quality tobacco in Yuxi—“Home of Tobacco”. It has become the first Category-I cigarette brand with a sales volume of more than 1 million boxes in the industry. In the last decade, its cumulative sales have reached 11.22 million boxes, with a sales revenue of RMB 564.95 billion, thus creating the taxes and profits of RMB 294.8 billion for China. Hongta Group will focus on the requirements for high-quality development in the industry, to seek for changes with innovation and forge ahead with determination. Holding the principle of “striving for making competitive products and improving quality”, it has been making efforts to provide quality and the choicest products for retail clients, consumers and business companies. It aims to contribute to the development of “Yuxi”—the “gold-lettered signboard” of Chinese cigarettes—with wisdom, originality and struggle.

The development of “Yuxi” owns more to the vigorous support and assistance from the CPC Yuxi Municipal Committee and Yuxi Municipal People’s Government. This brand has also made great contribution to Yuxi’s economic development and China’s tobacco during the 45 years. According to the speech of Bao Mingshun, Deputy Secretary of CPC Yuxi Municipal Committee, Yuxi, relying on “Two Cigarette Brands”, has become the world-known “Home of Tobacco in China”. This fertile soil has given birth to the renowned brands of Hongta Group, playing a significant role in Yuxi’s economy. Hongta Group, from an unknown factory, has become the treasure and pillar for Yuxi’s economic development. The great ecological environment and world-famous brands of Hongta Group have become the most beautiful name cards and the most attractive gold brands. The CPC Yuxi Municipal Committee and Yuxi Municipal People’s Government will pay much attention to “Two Cigarette Brands” with more support, to promote the dominant position of the “Home of Tobacco in China”, and offer their full support for better and greater development of Hongta Group.

Li Guanglin, Secretary of Leading Party Group, Director General and General Manager of Yunnan Tobacco Monopoly Bureau, in his speech, mentioned that “Yuxi”, as the representative of Chinese cigarettes, is the genuine model of fragrance. Enjoying profound history and cultural deposits, it is a reflection of solid craftsmanship of Chinese cigarettes. This is the fundamental reason that “Yuxi” and “Hongtashan” are favored by consumers. Yunnan is a big province with “Two Cigarette Brands”, an important producing area for quality tobacco in China, as well as a province with China’s most and largest cigarette brands. Yunnan’s tobacco, therefore, plays a decisive role in the industry development and Yunnan’s economic society. The tobacco business in Yunnan will give strong backing to innovative development of Hongta Group, and continue to focus more on the supply of quality raw materials to “Yuxi” and “Hongtashan” and the market cultivation in Yunnan, so as to facilitate the two brands’ development.

He said that while Chinese people are celebrating the 40th anniversary of reform and opening-up, China Tobacco Yunnan and Hongta Group usher in the 60th anniversary of “Hongtashan” and the 45th anniversary of “Yuxi”. This is not only a great event in the development history of the two companies, but also a joyful one for Yunnan’s workers engaged in the tobacco industry. It should be mentioned that Hongta’s history of reform and development is actually the epitome and representative of that of China’s and Yunnan’s tobacco. “Yuxi”, representing the high-end Chinese cigarettes, has made outstanding contribution to Chinese tobacco as well as Yunnan’s local economic society, and also offered numerous high-quality products to consumers. In addition to brilliance, we have also witnessed Hongta People’s entrepreneurship of arduous struggle, selfless dedication and ceaseless self-improvement; their progressive initiative spirit of being an enterprising pioneer; their fighting spirit of going beyond and challenging new heights with unremitting determination; their craftsmanship spirit for quality and excellence with the original aspiration; their humanistic spirit of going beyond expectation and consumer sovereignty.

Chen Weidong expects Hongta Group to make new breakthroughs in its brands, so as to realize its big dream, start a new era of greatness, determine the development goals, switch development ideas and improve development quality. Based on the brand strategy of “Refining ‘Yuxi’ and Strengthening ‘Hongtashan’”, it will optimize brand layout, advance brand structure, and enhance brand value, to revitalize and rebuild the brand. Continuously upholding the original aspiration of “being dedicated to producing cigarettes”, it keeps making innovation based on the tradition on the road of leading Chinese tobacco development, enabling “China’s Top Cigarettes” to enjoy time-honored history.
The innumerable great achievements of “Yuxi” are from the industry-commerce cooperation and collaborative development. In the speech of Zhou Hong, a cigarette retail client from Hebei, she said, “During the years of running a tobacco shop, I had the greatest feeling in two aspects. The first is that the shop cannot be operated without the help and guidance of the tobacco industry, especially the customer managers of tobacco companies and industrial enterprise marketers. Furthermore, it is the direction of long-term development for a tobacco shop to develop big brands.”

Mr. Chu Shijian sent a warm message to “Yuxi” via video at the launch event. He said, “The raw material quality is the foremost reason that ‘Yuxi’ has received great popularity on the market, and now we have better conditions. Since there are more tobacco reserves, more planting bases and quality tobacco, the great and rapid progress will be made under the joint effort.”

Dr. Miao Mingming, a foregoer of Lowering Tar and Reducing Harm of Tobacco and Deputy Director of Technology Center of China Tobacco Yunnan, announced the “Quality Theory of ‘Yuxi’”. He gave a comprehensive explanation of the quality of “Yuxi” in the aspects of origin, raw materials, crafts and technology, and offered a new interpretation of the basic meaning of “Model of Fragrance—Quality ‘Yuxi’”.

Amid passionate melody, leaders including Li Guanglin, Chen Weidong, Bao Mingshun and Wang Yong, together with representatives of customer managers and retail clients, unveiled the commemorative product for the 45th anniversary of “Yuxi”, adding more excitement to the scene.

It is reported that on the 45th anniversary, “Yuxi” launched its new product—“Yuxi (Emerald)”, which is the world’s first cigarette adopted microbial technology. This product is a cross-border integration of “tobacco + microbial technology” rolled out by Hongta Group and Beijing WP. Through oxygen-deficient combustion as well as the amidogen and adsorption, this product combines microbial technology and charming design. 88-millimeter design (medium), plus a hollow cigarette filter, is covered with cigarette paper with marine bio-particles, offering a unique fragrance. The tobacco is fermented in the top-grade cellar, with 83 classes of manual chip selection. It is then precipitated for three years, integrated with worm grass and saffron granules. The filtration and adsorption of polysaccharides in plants, as well as the physical cleaning of marine polysaccharides, generate a moist and moderate effect. It smells as elegant as the bamboo and tastes gentle. This product can offer the high-end consumer group a more comfortable and safe experience, and create a new era of Chinese high-end and comfortable cigarette products.

“Yuxi” becomes the model of fragrance with quality through word of mouth, and completes the model building and value upgrading in the years of struggling and exploring originality. It will start the journey for high-quality development in the new era from its 45th anniversary.
